As it does every year, the single most inclusive holiday of them all is fast-approaching as you round the corner of June right smack into July. The 4th holds as much significance as any of the national holidays – and for many Americans from all walks of life; quite a bit more.
Every major city is having multiple gathering places to celebrate America’s Independence and enjoy the dazzling fireworks displays that are a hallmark of the great day. If you happen to be visiting Detroit, MI during this time, you’ll of course find some of the best and brightest displays in such a major metropolis.

Not only is the menu delicious, but the heaping quantities of maple syrup and pancake, eggs, bacon and more don’t make much of a dent in your stash of cash or credit.
A Night to Remember – Fireworks Displays
Since there are several options of where to spend the early evening enjoying the incomparable light displays that emblazon the sky on the 4th of July, you can simply choose whichever location is nearest to you after dinner. One such selection is theRochester Festival of the Hills. The festival itself is a running show that begins on at the end of the month on June 28th, culminating in a dazzling fireworks display on the great day, itself. The start time is 10 pm on the dot in Borden Park at 1400 East Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills MI, so you might want to bring some blankets for the kids.
Giant car manufacturer Ford gets in on the 4th of July act, too, and hosts the Ford Fireworks Detroit show at Hart Plaza on the Detroit River. The event is jointlyhosted this year by the Parade Company, and actually begins a few days earlier on the 26th of June, with a rooftop party to remember. Take the family to the Renaissance Center in the Center Parking Garage to enjoy the games for children, lively music, great catered food from Andlamo and drinks for the adults. Shelby Townshipin the greater Detroit area also has a very special night planned for the occasion; starting on June 23 – a couple of days earlier than most, which allows you to visit others in the week of Independence Day. The fireworks show itself begins at dusk at the Stony Creek Metro Park on Main Park Road.
